About Christopher C. Ornelas, MD
Christopher C. Ornelas, MD, specializes in nonoperative spinal disorders and electrodiagnostic medicine aimed at relieving and preventing pain. He is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation.
Dr. Ornelas has earned honors for outstanding teaching in physical medicine and rehabilitation. He uses a variety of conservative measures to treat the pain and disability associated with neck and back disorders, including physiotherapy, medications, alternative medicine and spinal injections.
His research interests include restorative stimulation for low back pain, regenerative medicine and neuromodulation therapy for failed back surgery syndrome, which employs electrical stimulation to treat lower back pain.
Dr. Ornelas serves as program director for the USC Spine Medicine Fellowship, director of the USC Spine Symposium and an international lecturer — roles that require a high level of continuing education, training and clinical research. He calls on this knowledge to provide his patients with the best possible and newest treatment options.
Away from USC, he enjoys spending time with family, coaching sports and going to the gym.
