Annette Sy, DNP, RN, NE-BC Chief Nursing Executive for Keck Medical Center of USC
Annette Sy, DNP, RN, NE-BC, serves as the chief nursing executive (CNE) for Keck Medical Center of USC, which includes Keck Hospital of USC and USC Norris Cancer Hospital. In this role, Annette is responsible for overseeing and advancing the professional practice of nursing across the organization. Here, she serves as a vital health system resource; guaranteeing the organization adopts strategies to strengthen nursing environments and to recruit and retain the best and brightest nursing talent from across the country.
Prior to becoming CNE, Annette served as chief nursing officer (CNO) for Keck Medical Center from 2012 to 2021. During her tenure, Annette oversaw a number of initiatives that helped to strengthen nursing environments across the organization. Some of these included leading development of the medical center’s shared nursing governance council; overseeing the design of the medical center’s clinical ladder program; leading the development of the organization’s nursing professionalism program; and overseeing Keck Hospital of USC’s Magnet journey and application efforts, which led to Magnet designation in 2018.
Annette holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Dubuque; a Master of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Dubuque; and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from the California State University DNP Consortium. Annette is also a member of the National Association of Oncology Nurses, and the American Organization of Nurse Executives.
Ceonne Houston-Raasikh Chief Nursing Officer for Keck Hospital
Ceonne Houston-Raasikh is the chief nursing officer for Keck Hospital. She provides executive leadership and strategic direction for the nursing practice at Keck Hospital.
She is a seasoned healthcare executive with extensive leadership experience across diverse clinical settings. With a strong background in strategic planning, operational excellence, and team development, Ms. Houston-Raasikh has successfully led multidisciplinary teams to achieve superior outcomes while fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration. Over her career, Ms. Houston-Raasikh has demonstrated expertise in clinical operations, regulatory compliance, quality improvement, and financial management. She is known as a trusted leader who drives organizational success through effective communication, mentorship, and lean principles. She is passionate about patient safety and is actively involved in the professional development of new leaders.
Ms. Houston-Raasikh holds advanced degrees in nursing and healthcare administration, along with certifications in executive leadership and quality management. A graduate of the Wharton Business School Executive Leadership Program, Ms. Houston-Raasikh earned her doctorate degree in nursing from the University of San Francisco and her Master of Science degree from the California State University of Los Angeles.
Awa Jones, MSN, RN, NE-BC Chief Nursing Officer for USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Hospital
Awa Jones, MSN, RN, NE-BC, is the Chief Nursing Officer at USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Hospital, bringing more than 30 years of clinical and executive nursing leadership experience across oncology, critical care, and pediatric services. She is widely recognized for her commitment to clinical excellence, evidence-based practice, and advancing the nursing profession through workforce empowerment, shared governance, and professional development.
Throughout her career, Awa has led complex program development and operational initiatives, including the design and implementation of the Nursing Professionalism Program at Keck Medicine of USC, oncology service line standardization, bone marrow transplantation services, survivorship programs, and major quality and patient safety initiatives. She has served as a principal investigator on IRB-approved nursing research and played a key role in Keck Hospital’s journey to Magnet designation.
Known for her ethical, principled, and collaborative leadership style, Awa is deeply respected by staff, physicians, and patients alike. She holds a Master of Science in Healthcare Management and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, both with honors, and is board certified as a Nurse Executive.
Theresa Murphy, RN, MSHCA, CENP Chief Nursing Officer for USC Verdugo Hills Hospital
Theresa brings thirty years of experience in the healthcare industry. In addition to clinical practice as a Registered Nurse, Theresa has served several hospital organizations in managerial and executive level positions and currently serves as the Chief Nursing Officer at USC Verdugo Hills Hospital. Additionally, Theresa serves on several Boards including the Advisory Board of the O’Rourke Institute for Advancement of Professional Practice; the Board of Directors of the Chin Family Institute for Nursing at California State University Los Angeles; the Nurse Advisory Council for the Hospital Association of Southern California (HASC) including serving as Chair for the years 2020-2022; HASC Board of Directors 2020-2022; the Nurse Advisory Committee for the California Hospital Association (CHA); the Advisory Board of the Department of Healthcare Administration at California State University Long Beach and collaborated with HealthImpact on the nurse apprenticeship program. Theresa also served as an evaluator for the BETA HEART Event Review Panel.
Theresa has broad experience in managing and leading people. Throughout her executive service, Theresa has led complex operational processes, facilitated change initiatives, and developed functional teams. Her particular areas of interest include advancing professional nursing practice through the understanding of the California Nurse Practice Act, the development and coaching of emerging leaders and the development of organizational structures that support the unique acute hospital environment. Span of Control of acute hospital nurse managers was the subject of her graduate degree research.
Theresa graduated from LeMoyne College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Religious Studies; from California State University, Los Angeles with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing; from California State University, Long Beach with a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration and is certified in Executive Nursing Practice from the American Organization of Nurse Leaders. In addition to her duties at USC VHH, Ms. Murphy occasionally lectures at Mount St. Mary’s University, has volunteered with the Executive Service Corps providing executive coaching to leaders serving community non-profit organizations and has volunteered with Operation Walk LA surgical missions to Tanzania, Philippines and Cuba.
Jaime Reiter Chief Nursing Officer for USC Care Medical Group
Jaime Reiter is the chief nursing officer for USC Care Medical Group . An accomplished healthcare leader with more than 35 years in the industry, Jaime brings to this position the skill and experience needed to shepherd a successful future for USC Care.
Jamie oversees the professional nursing and clinical practice standards for the USC Care ambulatory operations, provides operational leadership for select areas, and is the lead nurse executive for clinical integration, service line growth, accreditation, and physician network expansion initiatives. Jaime will leverages her wealth of administrative and leadership experience to shape professional development programs for the clinical staff, with focus on retention, clinical education, and training and advancement. Jaime serves as a champion for the access and experience agenda through innovation in clinical practice and best practice implementation to improve efficiency, patient safety and quality of care. Jaime is also the senior nursing leader to ongoing integration and acquisition activities. In her role, she serves as the top representative for the nursing staff on the medical group leadership team, and on its governing board.
Jaime comes to Keck Medicine of USC from City of Hope, where she most recently served as the interim chief nursing officer and senior vice president of patient care services there, responsible for all inpatient and outpatient nursing services across Southern California. As the vice president and associate chief nursing officer for the Clinical Network – a position she held concurrently – Jaime was responsible for the operations, financial performance, quality, safety, and professional practice of nursing in 20 oncology community sites, and a mobile screening and prevention program across Ventura, Riverside, San Bernadina, Los Angeles, and Orange counties. She spearheaded numerous successful initiatives in this role, including the organization’s first comprehensive mobile cancer screening and prevention program, which launched in March 2023. She also designed a centralized sterile processing infrastructure to support the network’s complex sterile processing needs, including onboarding, training, competency validation, and equipment oversight.
Prior to her time at City of Hope, Jaime held leadership roles at Kaiser Permanente and, before that, Providence Health. At these organizations, she established a proven track record of designing and implementing regional service lines, improving clinical outcomes, reducing costs, and leading transformational care programs. She drove strategic initiatives across the enterprises, including in workforce optimization, implementing nursing recruitment programs and staffing model redesigns that enhanced patient experiences and staff engagement.
Jaime is involved in numerous professional organizations, holding memberships in the Oncology Nurses Society, the National Association for Healthcare Quality, and the Association of California Nurse Leaders, among several others. She holds a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Mount Saint Mary’s College and a Master of Business Administration from Loyola Marymount University. Jaime is currently enrolled in Oklahoma State University’s Doctor of Healthcare Administration program, expected to graduate in June 2028.
Colleen Wilcoxen, RN, MSN Chief Nursing Officer for USC Arcadia Hospital
Colleen Wilcoxen, RN, MSN joined USCAH in 2021 and is the Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at USC Arcadia Hospital. She is an accomplished healthcare executive with more than 16 years of experience leading hospitals through complex operational, cultural, and financial transformation. A Certified Lean Leader with expertise in Just Culture, High Reliability, and Six Sigma methodologies, she is recognized for developing high-performing teams, strengthening clinical operations, and driving measurable improvements in safety, quality, and patient experience. She has supported Magnet journeys, led major system implementations, and advanced organizational culture through leadership visibility, accountability, and process improvement.
She has driven measurable improvements in harm reduction, nurse retention, ED performance, and interdisciplinary collaboration, while also securing philanthropic support to advance the hospital’s Magnet journey. A value-driven and authentic leader, Colleen is committed to elevating care delivery, strengthening and empowering clinical teams, and fostering a culture of excellence. Her leadership extends into the community through active service, including board involvement with the LBPD K-9 program, advisory roles in healthcare organizations, and ongoing mentorship of emerging nursing leaders.

The Versant® RN Residency Program is an 18 to 20-week, evidence-based, comprehensive educational and training residency designed to transition newly graduated nurses from student to safe, confident and competent professional practitioners. As a RN resident, you are hired into the facility as a fulltime employee. Upon successful completion of this paid residency, you will be prepared to work as a fulltime, independent professional RN on your unit.
We also offer an O.R. Training Program that is available to both new graduates and experienced nurses who have not worked in the perioperative area.
The residency programs are offered twice a year with one cohort beginning in March and a second in August.
You must have a current California RN License and a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. A bachelor’s degree is preferred or a commitment to obtain one within five years. For a full list of qualifications, click here.
