Chronic Sinusitis Care

We offer the latest treatments for chronic sinusitis, to relieve sinus infection symptoms and help you feel better faster.

Leading-edge Care to Breathe Easier

Chronic sinusitis is a sinus infection or swelling that doesn’t go away, even with treatment. Sinusitis stops your sinuses from draining like they should, making it hard to breathe and creating sinus pain and pressure.

When you want relief from sinus infection symptoms, we can help. We’re ranked among the country’s top ear, nose and throat (ENT) programs by U.S. News & World Report. You can get the latest treatments — including image-guided balloon sinuplasty, a minimally invasive approach to treat blocked sinuses. You get a personalized treatment plan that gives you relief as quickly as possible.

What Is Sinusitis?

What Are Sinus Infection Symptoms?

Chronic sinusitis refers to infection symptoms that continue for more than 12 weeks, even after antibiotics or other treatments. It’s different from acute sinusitis, a short-lived sinus infection.

Sinus infection symptoms include:

  • Headache or ear pain
  • Nasal congestion (stuffy nose)
  • Pain, swelling or pressure around your eyes, nose and cheeks
  • Post-nasal drip (mucus buildup that drips down the back of your throat)
  • Reduced ability to smell or taste
  • Runny nose with yellow or green mucus
  • Sore throat and cough
  • Tiredness

You should see your doctor if your symptoms last longer than 10 days or if you’ve had sinusitis and it keeps coming back.

Sinus infections can affect all your sinuses (air-filled areas near your nose), including:

  • Ethmoid sinuses (near the bridge of your nose)
  • Frontal sinuses (above your nose near your eyebrows)
  • Maxillary sinuses (on your cheeks near your nose)
  • Sphenoid sinuses (behind your nose)

Chronic Sinusitis Treatments We Offer

We offer a full range of treatments, depending on your needs.

Your treatment may include:

  • Allergy shots (for allergy-related sinusitis)
  • Antibiotics, steroids or other medicines
  • Minimally invasive sinus surgery, including the Lothrop procedure and septoplasty
  • Nasal rinses

Your doctor will discuss all your options and create a treatment plan to help you feel better as quickly as possible.
