Stephanie K. Zia, MD, MACM, FAAP, FACP, FHM, has a dual specialty in internal medicine and pediatrics and dedicates herself to educating tomorrow’s physicians.
Dr. Zia is the recipient of several Faculty Excellence in Teaching and Outstanding Teacher awards at the Keck School of Medicine of USC, along with a Master Teacher distinction. She has been selected for the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award from the Arnold P. Gold Foundation and inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society.
With her research interest in medical education, Dr. Zia develops and delivers a wide range of curriculum, including both scientific and career management topics, such as leadership, optimizing learning and interview techniques. She directs the USC Keck Medical Student Coaching Program and Medical Student Track Mentor Program.
Dr. Zia is active in various medical organizations, including the Society of General Internal Medicine (SGIM), where she is past president of the California/Hawaii Region. She serves as president of the Los Angeles chapter of the Society of Hospital Medicine, where she hosts and co-presents its New Hospitalist webinar series.
A lifelong Southern Californian, Dr. Zia grew up in the San Gabriel Valley. She is proud to have been at USC since graduating from high school.
