Reza Omid, MD, specializes in all conditions of shoulder and elbow surgery — from joint replacement surgery and revision surgery to minimally invasive arthroscopic procedures and traumatic conditions, such as sports injuries.
An active researcher, Dr. Omid’s interests include the use of novel tendon transfers for irreparable rotator cuff tears and vascularized options for reconstruction of the shoulder, along with shoulder and elbow arthritis, fractures and cartilage injuries.
He coauthored the 2020 textbook The Foundations of Shoulder and Elbow Surgeryand has authored several textbook chapters on orthopedic injuries and disorders, in addition to numerous peer-reviewed articles. Dr. Omid is involved in key national organizations, including the prestigious American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons. He has been named a Top Doctor by Pasadena Magazine and a Super Doctor several years in a row.
Dr. Omid grew up in Orange County. In addition to exploring different countries and cultures, he enjoys going on hikes with his sons and playing sports of all kinds.
