Emmeline Chang, MS, is a board-certified genetic counselor at USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, a part of Keck Medicine of USC. She specializes in assessing genetic risk for hereditary cancer for patients who have a personal and/or family history.
Chang believes in getting to know each patient individually, so she can tailor services and care to their unique needs. Ultimately, her goal is to provide the kind of personalized care she would want as a patient.
Her research interests include optimizing communication of uncertain hereditary cancer test results, reducing cultural barriers to genetic testing and improving understanding about the risk associated with cancer genes.
She is a member of the National Society of Genetic Counselors and Southern California Genetic Counselors and has presented her research findings to these organizations.
In her free time, Chang enjoys trying new foods, baking and Pilates. She is fluent in conversational Korean.
