Pulin A. Sheth, MD, has dedicated his career to developing and continually evolving the most advanced imaging techniques to screen, diagnose and stage breast cancer.Dr. Sheth joined Keck Medicine of USC in 2001, and now serves as medical director of the Breast Imaging Program at USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center and its satellite centers. He is chief of breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and staff radiologist at Keck Medicine and the Los Angeles County + USC Medical Center.His research interests include product design and development of breast imaging and intervention devices, as well as the effectiveness of advanced imaging techniques such as MRI, ultrasound and tomosynthesis or 3D mammography. He is co-investigator on multicenter National Institutes of Health-funded studies that are testing new chemotherapy agents and the benefits of 3D versus digital mammography, among other research projects.Dr. Sheth was inspired by his father to become a physician — a profession he feels he was born to do and approaches with passion and conviction. Away from work, he loves spending time with his boys.
