About Graeme M. Rosenberg, MD

Dr. Rosenberg is a thoracic surgeon specializing in the management of benign and malignant diseases of the chest and foregut at Keck Medicine of USC. He has a special interest in the surgical management of lung cancer and mediastinal masses as well as providing expertise in bronchoplastic and airway surgery. His other areas of focus include benign and malignant disorders of the esophagus, including esophageal cancer, hiatal/paraesophageal hernia, and gastroesophageal reflux disease. He is trained in minimally invasive techniques including robotic surgery. Dr. Rosenberg approaches each case in a collaborative way, leveraging the multidisciplinary expertise available at Keck Medicine of USC.

After earning his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine, Dr. Rosenberg completed General Surgery training at Stanford University. He remained at Stanford to complete a Fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery with a focus on thoracic surgery. He is board certified in General Surgery and board eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery.

Dr. Rosenberg believes that trust is the most important part of his relationship with his patients. He believes that it’s especially important to spend time learning about each patient, and to answer any questions so that each patient can make an informed decision.

In his free time, Dr. Rosenberg enjoys exploring the outdoors with his wife and two sons.

I believe in forming a relationship with patients and their families based on trust, especially as a surgeon. I strive to listen and understand each individual’s unique problem and how it affects their life. Understanding where a patient is coming from, and their specific clinical problem helps me to craft the most effective treatment plan.

I believe in selecting the ideal modality of surgery for each specific problem and person. My training has prepared me in advanced surgical techniques including minimally invasive thoracoscopic, robotic, and endoscopic modalities.

I believe that multidisciplinary care is incredibly important when approaching complex medical problems - the collaborative nature essential to provide exceptional, patient-centered care. I also foster a team mentality with all those involved in caring for a patient.
