Ernesto Ruvalcaba, PA-C, is a physician assistant with Keck Medicine of USC specializing in internal medicine and urgent care. He has extensive experience treating both adult and pediatric patients across a wide range of health care needs, ranging from minor upper respiratory tract infections to acute surgical abdominal conditions.
Ruvalcaba prioritizes open communication in his relationships with patients, believing that a strong foundation of trust leads to better health outcomes. He is especially passionate about improving access to care and addressing health care disparities. He seeks to understand how social determents of health — such as health literacy, community and social resources — influence health outcomes, and how patients can take an active role in their own health.
Ruvalcaba earned his Master of Physician Assistant Practice degree from the Keck School of Medicine of USC. He is fluent in Spanish and grew up in Los Angeles. He is proud to care for patients in the community in which he was raised.
