About Bradley Curtis Johnson, MD

Bradley Curtis Johnson, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon with Keck Medicine of USC who specializes in minimally invasive and motion-preserving surgical techniques for the neck and back. Dr. Johnson is dedicated to helping patients maintain long-term spinal function while minimizing their recovery time. Another primary focus is comprehensive pain-management strategies that optimize patient outcomes and comfort, while reducing reliance on opioids.

Dr. Johnson believes that trust and collaboration are the cornerstones of patient care. He builds strong relationships by listening closely to understand a patient’s goals. His mission is to work closely with patients to create treatment plans that align with their lifestyle and priorities.

Dr. Johnson earned his medical degree from the University of Southern California, where he also completed his orthopedic surgery residency. He completed fellowship training in spine surgery at New York University.

He currently serves as a clinical assistant professor of orthopaedic surgery for the Keck School of Medicine of USC. His research interests include the development and refinement of minimally invasive and motion-preserving spine surgical procedures and multimodal pain-management approaches.

When he’s not working, Dr. Johnson enjoys golfing, playing tennis, cheering on the USC football team and barbecuing and camping with his family.

I believe in a team-based approach to diagnosis and treatment planning, working closely with primary care physicians, physical therapists and pain-management specialists. Surgery is considered only when conservative treatments have been exhausted. When it is necessary, I follow a ‘less is more’ philosophy, favoring minimally invasive, motion-preserving techniques that promote quicker recovery and long-term function.
