About Aaron M. Wolfson, MD

Dr. Aaron M. Wolfson is an Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiologist and Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California.

Dr. Wolfson graduated from Boston University College of Engineering where he earned a BS (2006) and MS (2008) in Biomedical Engineering. He stayed at the Boston University School of Medicine and earned his MD in 2012 having earned Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) honors as a 4th year medical student.

He completed his internal medicine residency at University of Chicago, general cardiology fellowship at Los Angeles County + University of Southern California, and advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Prior to joining Keck Medicine of USC in December of 2020, Dr. Wolfson was an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona.

He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular medicine, advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology and echocardiography. In addition to taking care of patients that have undergone heart transplantation or implantation of a durable mechanical circulatory support device, he has an active outpatient clinic and cares for patients with all types of heart failure, heart valve diseases, coronary artery disease, hypertension and hyperlipidemia. He also performs right heart catheterizations, right ventricular endomyocardial biopsies and implants CardioMEMS pressure sensors for remote hemodynamic monitoring of heart failure patients.

His research has focused on remote hemodynamic monitoring in heart failure, temporary mechanical circulatory support and heart transplantation. He has a growing number of high-impact research manuscripts that have been published in the Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation and the American Journal of Transplantation.
