Marty Sargeant was appointed CEO of Keck Medical Center of USC, comprised of Keck Hospital of USC and USC Norris Cancer Hospital, after serving as interim CEO. He provides executive leadership for Keck Hospital and USC Norris while maintaining strong relationships with department chairs, faculty, staff and leadership. He is committed to personally engaging with frontline caregivers and maintains a constant presence at the medical center, creating opportunities to enhance patient care and ensure that physicians and staff have the support they need to excel in their roles.
Sargeant has more than 20 years of health care leadership experience. Prior to his role as CEO, he served as chief operating officer for the medical center. In this position, he provided overall executive leadership, including quality of care, clinical operations, customer satisfaction, financial stewardship, physician relations and business growth.
Before joining Keck Medicine, Sargeant was chief operating officer for City of Hope. There, he led operations for the medical center and 22 community practice sites, research operations and enterprise support services. Sargeant also held a number of positions over a 17-year tenure with the Cleveland Clinic.
Previous to his career in health care, Sargeant served for 10 years as an F-15 combat pilot in the United States Air Force, for which he received two medals of commendation and served as a flight instructor.
He is a graduate of Virginia Military Institute and holds a Master in Business Administration from Case Western Reserve University.
