Our advanced comprehensive testing can help pinpoint the underlying cause of your infertility. By providing evidence-based, individualized treatment, we can help you turn your dream of parenthood into a reality.

We specialize in state-of-the-art fertility treatments such as microsurgical testicular sperm extraction (microTESE) for sperm retrieval and microsurgical epididymal sperm aspiration (MESA) for those needing assisted reproductive support. If your infertility is the result of a vasectomy, our experienced urological surgeons can perform microsurgical vasectomy reversal surgery to help you achieve a natural pregnancy. In addition, we offer innovative and regenerative therapies such as low-intensity shockwave therapy for erectile dysfunction; minimally invasive procedures like no-scalpel, no-needle vasectomies; and Xiaflex injections for Peyronie’s disease.

Desiring Fertility When You Have Had a Vasectomy

Up to 6% of men who have had a vasectomy desire fertility in the future. We offer fertility options for men with a history of vasectomy. These options include microsurgical vasectomy reversal and minimally invasive sperm extraction using testicular sperm extraction (TESE) or percutaneous sperm aspiration (PESA).

Cystic Fibrosis-Related Infertility

Most men with cystic fibrosis have congenital absence of the vas deferens (the tubes that transport sperm from the testicle to the ejaculate). We offer fertility treatments for men with cystic fibrosis, including minimally invasive sperm extraction, percutaneous sperm aspiration (PESA) and microsurgical epididymal sperm aspiration (MESA).

Fertility Preservation for Men Undergoing Cancer Treatment

Cancer treatments like chemotherapy, radiation or surgery can impact a man’s fertility, potentially making it difficult to father children in the future. At our center, we offer fertility preservation options to safeguard your ability to have children post-treatment. This typically involves sperm banking (cryopreservation) during which sperm is collected and frozen for future use. We also offer specialized fertility evaluations and consultations to guide you through the best choices based on your individual situation.

Transgender Female Fertility Evaluation and Treatment

For transgender women planning to undergo bottom surgery or hormone therapy, these treatments can impact fertility and the ability to have biological children in the future. To preserve your fertility before starting treatment, we offer sperm banking (cryopreservation) during which sperm is collected and frozen for later use. We are also able to optimize hormones to help with sperm recovery if desired. Our team will guide you through the fertility preservation process, respecting your needs and providing a supportive environment.

Male Reproductive Health Evaluation: We offer a complete male fertility evaluation including hormone testing, semen analysis testing and genetic testing. We evaluate for:

  • Low sperm counts
  • Low sperm motility
  • Abnormal sperm morphology
  • Obstructive and nonobstructive azoospermia (no sperm in ejaculate)

Male Sexual Health Evaluation: We offer in-office penile injection combined with penile ultrasound to differentiate and better understand the cause of erectile dysfunction (ED) such as vasculogenic ED versus psychogenic ED. This tool additionally helps us better characterize penile deformity.

At the USC Fertility and Men’s Sexual Health Clinic, we address several common concerns you might have upon your visit, including:

  • Effectiveness and success rates of treatments: Many patients are concerned about the likelihood of successful outcomes, whether it’s restoring fertility, improving sexual function or managing symptoms of conditions like Peyronie’s disease. We offer clear information on the effectiveness of specific treatments, success rates and any factors that may impact your individual outcome.
  • Impact on overall health and relationships: Concerns also arise about how treatments may affect not only your physical health but also your emotional well-being, relationships and quality of life. We offer reassurance that treatment will lead to positive changes without compromising other aspects of your life.
  • Pain, discomfort and recovery: Patients often ask about the level of pain or discomfort they might experience with treatments like vasectomies, Xiaflex injections or penile implants. We provide information about what the recovery process will be like, how long it will take and what to expect as you heal.
  • Privacy and sensitivity: Patients frequently worry about discussing sensitive topics such as fertility issues, low testosterone, erectile dysfunction or sexual health in a medical setting. We assure you that your concerns will be handled with discretion, empathy and respect.
  • Treatment safety and long-term effects: Patients want to ensure that any treatments, such as testosterone therapy or microsurgical procedures, are safe and free from significant long-term side effects. We offer guidance on any potential risks and the long-term benefits of each option.

Our team addresses each of these concerns thoughtfully, providing thorough information and support to help patients make informed, confident decisions about their care.
