The departments of Neurology and Neurosurgery at the University of Southern California (USC) provide exceptional training and education opportunities to trainees in the Epilepsy Fellowship Programs.
The USC Comprehensive Epilepsy Center provides services across multiple centers, including Keck Medical Center of USC, LAC+USC Medical Center, Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. The center is led by prominent clinicians and offers the latest advances in medical and surgical management, neuroimaging, technological devices, dietary therapy and other treatments. As such, trainees should expect to receive unrivaled exceptional training in this sub-specialty.
Weekly multidisciplinary epilepsy conferences and didactic lectures also provide the fellow with the educational background to develop a strong intellectual foundation for a career in epilepsy. A multitude of research opportunities, from basic science and neural network projects to clinical, neurocognitive research studies are available to the epilepsy fellow.
The Keck School of Medicine of USC offers a one-year, ACGME-accredited epilepsy fellowship. Upon completion, fellows will be eligible for the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) Epilepsy subspecialty boards. Learn more.
The program affords the opportunity for an in-folded or post-graduate neurosurgical resident to gain comprehensive focused training in the medical and surgical management of patients suffering from seizure disorders.
