About Sharron Lachelle Manuel, MD

Sharrón L. Manuel, MD, PhD, MS, is a reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist with Keck Medicine of USC with expertise in fertility preservation, LGBTQ+ family building, third-party reproduction, recurrent pregnancy loss, polycystic ovary syndrome, endometriosis, premature ovarian insufficiency and any condition affecting reproductive hormones.

Dr. Manuel believes that a strong patient-doctor relationship is built on mutual trust and honoring the patient’s comfort. She strives to create a safe, inclusive space where patients can openly share their goals and concerns. By prioritizing education and shared decision-making, she empowers patients to make well-informed choices.

After earning an MD and PhD in obstetrics and gynecology from Drexel University, Dr. Manuel went on to a residency at the University of Kentucky. She then attended Northwestern University, where she earned a Master of Reproductive Science and Medicine. She completed her training with a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the University of Cincinnati.

Dr. Manuel serves as an assistant professor of reproductive endocrinology and infertility for the Keck School of Medicine of USC. Her research focuses on polycystic ovary syndrome — including its associated inflammatory effects, metabolic effects and fertility disturbances — as well as ovarian aging and inflammatory responses affecting fertility. She is also passionate about improving assisted reproduction outcomes and access to fertility care.

Outside of work, Dr. Manuel enjoys watching movies and having game nights with her family, dancing, cooking, riding her exercise bike, trying new restaurants and being outdoors.

I believe in shared decision-making and educating my patients so they can make well-informed choices. I see myself as an advocate, speaking up for patients’ rights and needs when they are unable to do so. I treat my patients as if they are part of my family, and in doing all of this, I hope to develop trust and a sense of connectedness with them.
