About Katie Galvin, MD
Katie M. Galvin, MD, is an upper gastrointestinal/foregut surgeon specializing in treating gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), hiatal hernias, esophageal motility disorders, gastroparesis and malignant diseases of the esophagus and stomach.

Dr. Galvin completed her surgery residency at the University of California, Irvine, and a fellowship at Keck Medical Center of USC, focusing on advanced gastrointestinal/foregut surgery and minimally invasive techniques. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in molecular and cellular biology from the University of Arizona and a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Phoenix, AZ. 

Dr. Galvin’s research interests include advancing new techniques in the field of foregut surgery and improving clinical outcomes. She is also an assistant professor of clinical surgery at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. She takes pride in teaching skills that are not only fundamental to academic excellence but that are also the general building blocks of critical thinking in medicine. 

Dr. Galvin has served on the medical board of directors for the Orange County Medical Association and was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society for exemplary and compassionate care.
